In the future, cannabidiol, hemp seeds, hemp seed oil, hemp leaf extract, etc. will be officially listed as banned raw materials for cosmetics.
In order to further strengthen the management of cosmetic raw materials and ensure the quality and safety of cosmetics, and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the “Regulations on Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics”, the State Drug Administration has organized a review of the “Prohibited Components of Cosmetics” in Chapter 2 of the “Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications (2015 Edition)”. The new version of the “Catalogue of Prohibited Plant (Animal) Raw Materials for Cosmetics” expressly prohibits the use of hemp seeds (CANNABIS SATIVA FRUIT), hemp seed oil (CANNABIS SATIVASEED OIL), and hemp leaf extract (CANNABIS SATIVA LEAF EXTRACT).
Cannabidiol (also referred to as the CBD component in the industry) is a cannabis with a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of less than 0.3%. It is a safe non-addictive substance and belongs to more than one hundred “phytocannabinoids” One of them.
